Early diagnosis and appropriate treatment of sepsis are crucial to improving patient outcomes, which is why SimSuite Sepsis Program, an education solution that addresses current national quality and patient safety initiatives, focuses on early identification and appropriate treatment. The program, by Medical Simulation Corporation in Denver, also aims to stop the progression of sepsis into severe sepsis or septic shock.

"Simulation has been documented as an excellent tool for hospital educators and clinicians to use in the implementation of critical thinking and utilization of guidelines," Barbara McLean, RN, MN, CCRN, CCNS-NP, FCCM, sepsis program author and nationally recognized critical care expert, says in a news release. "The SimSuite Sepsis Program is the only simulation-based training solution that focuses on early identification as well as implementation of therapies using realistic, hands-on education."

The SimSuite Sepsis Program enables standardized training across healthcare team members, increasing the competence and confidence of all nurses and physicians in critical and acute care settings who are responsible for patient care.
